CHLOROFILTRE FAST SAS FLY
Catch and cover crops
-
Chlorofiltre Fast SAS FLY is a cover crop designed for long intercropping. Comprising Daikon radish, late-maturing moha and Vittasso brown mustard, this mixture produces a high summer biomass and helps improve soil structure. The seeds in this cover crop are coated with SAS FLY, making them ideal for broadcast sowing prior to harvest.
Fonctionnal benefits
- Species suitable for broadcast sowing
- Soil structuring
- SAS FLY seed technology
Why use the Chlorofiltre Fast cover crop?
-
A selection of species suitable for broadcast sowing:
According to tests carried out, the species in this mixture perform well when broadcast sown up to 24m, depending on the equipment used. Furthermore, they enable high summer biomass production and proper establishment.
A root system that improves soil structure:
The Asian radish DAIKON promotes strong soil structuring thanks to its root system. The species in this mixture have complementary root systems.
SAS FLY seed pelleting technology
The Cholorofiltre Fast cover crop benefits from the new SAS FLY seed coating technology, which allows for conventional sowing or broadcast sowing under cover crops. This coating technology facilitates crop emergence under limiting conditions and improves the Ballistic effect for sowing distances of up to 24m, depending on the equipment used (preferably a fertilizer spreader).
Seeds coating technologies
-
The Chlorofiltre FAST cover crop benefits from the new SAS FLY seed technology.
Designed for broadcast-sown cover crops, this coating offers two innovative benefits:
SAS FLY optimises broadcast sowing up to 24 metres:
To ensure uniform sowing, the coating applied to the small seeds helps to standardise seed size and weight and improves trajectory during broadcast sowing.
SAS FLY improves cover crop emergence in summer conditions:
The SAS FLY coating contains the biostimulant OSYR, which enhances the seeds’ drought stress tolerance and thus promotes cover crop establishment.
SAS FLY is a technology approved for use in organic farming (UAB).

2 techniques for sowing your SAS FLY cover crops
-
Recommended method: broadcast sowing before harvest- Sowing the cover crops: between 1 and 15 days before the cereal harvest.
- Equipment: use a fertilizer spreader. Do not use a Delimbe-type spreader.
- Spreader settings: follow the manufacturers’ recommendations. SAS FLY cover crops are listed in the manufacturers’ application guides (Kuhn, Amazone, Sky, etc.).
- Sowing rate: 12,5 kg/ha
- Stubble height: if broadcast sowing was carried out more than 10 days before harvest, do not mow too low, as this may damage the young seedlings. Optimal height: 20 cm.
- Straw management: opt for chopped and scattered straw to maintain soil moisture. If the straw is removed, increase the cover crop sowing rate by 20 to 30%.
- Pests: monitor for slugs.
- Note: some late-season sulfonylurea treatments may affect cover crop crop emergence.
- Tip: with early sowing, the cover crop may take some time to develop, so be patient!
Possible alternative technique: direct drilling after harvest- Soil: manage crop residues promptly (if straw is removed).
- Sowing of cover crops: sow immediately after the cereal harvest, within 48 hours.
- Equipment: prefer a direct-drilling seeder with tines rather than discs.
- Sowing rate: 12,5 kg/ha
- Rolling recommended to ensure seed-to-soil contact.
- Note: certain late-applied sulfonylurea treatments may affect the cover crop’s crop emergence.
- Tip: with early sowing, the cover crops may take some time to develop, so please be patient!
