50 years of experience and specialized in more than 80 species
Seed production is one of Cérience’s historic activity.
We started the production of maize and forage almost 50 years ago in the Loire Valley. Step by step, we have developed our know-how on other species whether in open field or in green houses.
Our expertise covers more than 80 species splitted in 4 big plant categories:

- Forage and covers crops
- Maize and oilseed plants
- Vegetables and flowers

A few figures about seeds production:
Cereals and protein crops
A high level of know-how for hybrid, organic and conventional seeds, as well as keeping genetic lines and purity.
Expert in self-pollinated crops and hybrid parents.
Species: wheat, barley, triticale, lupine, peas, etc.
Vegetables and flowers
Hybrid varieties F1, and OP (open pollination).
Production is being done in the most suitable areas: Loire Valley, Normandy and Beauce.
High capacity industrial tool, compliant with ISTA standards.
Species: carrot, parsley, onion, cabbage, lettuce, radishes, beans, etc.
Maize and oilseed crops
Two areas of production (Anjou and Vienne) including on pedoclimatic area protected by prefectural decree, recognised for the production of sensitive varieties and the regularity of yields.
Species: maize, rapeseed, sunflower, etc.
Forage crops
We work on a high number of species: grasses and legumes.
We operate on one of the most suitable production areas in the world (soil and climate) for legumes and especially alfalfa.
Species: alfalfa, grasses, legumes, brassicas, etc.
