Cérience has reached a new milestone in its development with the acquisition of a majority stake in SEED IN TECH, a French company specialising in priming, or Seed technologies.
This move is fully in line with the strategy pursued since the company’s inception: to become a leading service provider and technology partner for seed producers in France and internationally.
By integrating priming into its know-how, Cérience is establishing itself as a key player in seed technologies and accelerating the roll-out of innovative, high-value-added solutions. We now offer a comprehensive approach in this field: disinfection, film coating, seed coating and priming.
A ‘next-generation’ priming solution for high-value-added seeds such as vegetable seeds
SEED IN TECH offers cutting-edge expertise in the field of priming, drawing on scientific collaborations with INRAE, AgroParisTech and Paris-Saclay University.
Its SMART Priming® technology, which is used on vegetable seeds among others, is based on a bio-inspired and bio-based approach that activates the seed’s natural metabolic processes. It improves crop emergence dynamics, boosts seedling vigor and enhances defence mechanisms from the earliest stages.
The result of more than fifteen years of research, this innovation is a key differentiator for Cérience, going beyond the performance of traditional priming, particularly in terms of seed shelf life.
