Short-term mixture

M-DEROBEE is a forage catch crop with a balanced composition of grasses and legumes. This short-lasting mixture can be sown as a fall or spring catch crop.

Why choose Cérience's M-Dérobée mix?

An early forage catch crop:

• M-DEROBEE can be used in intercropping to trap fertilizing elements and provide forage production.
• Requiring little nitrogen, M-DEROBEE provides rapid production that can be used before winter and early spring (as early as April).
• This earliness results from the choice of varieties in the mix, and means that the soil can be freed up much earlier for subsequent crops.

Excellent feed value:

• M-DEROBEE provides forage with a better balance of energy and protein (+5 to +15% in UF and PDI) than conventional Italian ryegrass, and saves on concentrates.
• Palatability and digestibility are also improved by legumes, while Italian ryegrass increases the leaf content and therefore the UF of the forage.

Great operating flexibility:

• M-DEROBEE is suitable for mowing: diploid varieties of Italian ryegrass are richer in dry matter, improving drying and forage conservation.
• After early sowing, M-DEROBEE can be used before winter to provide early spring silage (from April): thanks to the presence of non-alternative Italian ryegrass, it can provide a very leafy 2nd cut.
